Essence is a German based beauty brand that dabbles in everything from skincare to make up. Available in over 60 countries worldwide, this is a high quality brand that is as cheap as chips and I am pleased to say does not test on animals. Other brands, take note - It can be done. In late September last year, Essence finally launched in the UK. These are available in only 6 Wilkinson's stores across England: Portsmouth, Wood Green, Mansfield, Sunderland, Castleford & South end on sea.
I decided to pop up to Wood Green and see them for myself. I got a bit carried away I must say! In particular these were the products that stood out the most for me:
3D Duo Eye shadows | £3.99 ... The duo pots are snazzy little numbers. Their swirling form along with the colour pay off really hit the spot. Each of the 3D Duo's contain a light and dark shade that work to create a look that plays with shadows and light across the eyes. The lighter shade in each pot sits nicely in the inner corner of the eye and just underneath the brow bone. Its a great highlight and blends very easily. The darker shade is one for the lid. If you pack this on even more in the crease, you can easily create a shadow without having to add another colour. They are jazzy and go on so smoothly - The price is completely justified.
TRY... 08 'Vanilla Latte', Peach toned golds & iridescent sparkles OR 04 'Caramel Cream', rich bronze & champagne white.
Quattro Eye shadows | £3.99 ... If you like a mix of shimmers and mattes, this little palette is your girl. It contains a selection of complimentary colours, one matte & three shimmers. These are completely addictive and the palettes range from neutral colours all the way to brights. There is a little something for everyone. They aren't patchy, they go on very nicely. And I love how many looks you can create from a selection of just four shadows. They make each of these quads very flexible in colour and choice. Its a freaking bargain.
TRY... 05 'To die for', a strong neutrals quad with rich colours.

I know how you feel girl! I love that too. Its a bit of a trip for me to get there though. So it will be a loooong time before I try that again! :) xx
DeleteSo pretty! I've never tried anything from Essence!! I have heard of them though, and have heard nothing but good things!

Try it. They have some GREAT products. Not just eye shadows. Check out their website! xx
DeleteThey're really pretty :) Essence was the first make up brand I started using. Personally I LOVE the mascaras but don't get along so much with the eye shadows. I find they end up just blending into one colour. This could be down to the fact that I have bought more expensive eye shadow palettes like the Naked 2 and Inglot. But I do agree that its cheap and good value for money. It think it's a great brand to start off your make up collection with.

I completely agree that in comparison to the Naked palettes they pale in significance in every way! It is however great for those on a tight budget. I find these to be really cute little extras that you can keep close. I don't find the quality of them bad at all. But they don't apply as smoothly as urban decay eye shadows, I will give you that. I LOVE that you can buy this and know that they don't test on animals. :) Thank you for your very long and lovely review! xx
DeleteThese eyeshadows look interesting and are definitely pigmented!

DeleteWow, how gorgeous are these shades?! I've wanted to try Essence for ages but never known where to get it from, damn not living near any of those Wilkinson's! Thanks for your comment on my blog, I know the name change was quite confusing but I'm fickle and wanted to change things around ;-) You don't need to refollow me anywhere, it should still be all the same! xx

Oh noooo. Well I will keep you updated if they start branching out! Hopefully they will because I love the brand. For the price they are SO great. Everyone likes changing things. There are no worries! xx
DeleteI've never heard of Essence before, but I trust your judgement when it comes to makeup... haha!
ReplyDeleteLove what you picked up! I'm nowhere near the Wilkinson stores you've mentioned, but hopefully they sell it somewhere else too.
