When you put on your lipstick, you expect it to last right? I end up having to reapply every 2 hours. Its a fussy process. And when you don't have a mirror - it can be so annoying. As much as I love a good lipstick, maintaining it can be a bit of a bother. So how do you make your lipstick last? Here is a trick I picked up…
1. Whack out the toothbrush. Make sure its dry and scrub those lips. It somehow makes them feel smooth prepped and ready to go. Ooh lovely. Throw on some lip balm too. Give your lips a bit of a treat.
2. Get out the lip liner. I like shaping my lips to make them look slightly fuller. You can draw this all over the lips if you want to. But I just use it as an outline.
3. Then its time to pop out the powder. I tend to use my face powder. Its finely milled and makes for a nice lip base. Now I know right now your thinking 'this girl is crazy'. But hey - don't knock it until you've tried it. It truly does work a treat. Dust it all over the lips and then whack on the lipstick. If you use a powder that is finely milled then you won't even see the powder at all. It looks just like your normal lipstick but with a bit of extra grip.
4. Its not necessary but I tend to blot on a bit of tissue. I like my lipstick to be blotted so it doesn't bleed.

And voila you are done. Now get to showing those lips off pronto!

DeleteNeed to try this powder trick. Usually to make it last, I apply it, blot, re-apply, and repeat. But I want to try this too!!

I love this trick too! Its something I also use. I love using it more with matte lipsticks though, not glossy lipsticks.
DeleteI always fail in making lip color stick, especially those brights that need to look perfect or awful. I will try your idea tonight and hope it would make things better...
ReplyDeleteLet me know how you did. You only need the tiniest amount of fine powder!
