Today I am bringing quite a well known brand to the blog. These are snazzy, exciting and very edgy. Let me introduce you to these 'Eyeko Skinny eyeliners'. How exciting - Ooh La La.
The Product
These two snazzy numbers are from Eyeko's Skinny Eyeliner range. They are in two different colours: Navy blue and Black. Whilst I thought it could be quite odd wearing a blue eyeliner over the lid, it actually turned out to be stunning. And of the two, I prefer this eyeliner the most. The navy blue eyeliner gives a slightly softer look then the black eyeliner and it brightens up the eye. Its not hugely visible when your wearing it. It looks like a dark eyeliner with a bit of pizazz. Its definitely my favourite of the two. The black eyeliner is jet black. Its super black. Its striking and bold and on the lash line it brings definition to a whole new level. They are quite different to other pen eyeliners.
The Nib / Wand
When it comes to pen eyeliners, the nib is always very important. Something with a fat nib and hard to work does not cut it for me. It needs to be thin, slim and easy to work with. My eyes tend to roll more onto the smaller side of things, so I like to draw my eyeliner on with long slim lines. Its more flattering for my eye shape this way. So what are these Eyeko nibs like? Whilst they are branded as 'skinny liquid eyeliners' these are not the skinniest liquid liners I own. I have far more eyeliners with slimmer wands and nibs then the Eyeko Skinny range offers. However they are not to be shunned to the side either. If you get them brand new, you would easily be able to draw some nice fine lines with this product. The results are intense - Strong, thick, glossy lines. Its when the product dries out that the trouble arrives.
Application
If your looking for sharp clear cut and smooth lines in regard to your eyeliner, this may not be the product for you. I find these Eyeko skinny eyeliners have a bit more of a rugged edge about them. Once drawn on they look like they have been smudged out to work a bit more of an edgy look. And this rugged eyeliner works quite nicely too. First off it needs a bit of shaking before use. These dry out very quickly and so it does need a good shake every now and then. Drawing this on over the lid can be quite tricky at times, because if your trying to draw on fine lines then the eyeliner itself can be quite patchy, hence giving you a rugged edge. Its not the easiest product to sweep over the lid, but the effect your left with is quite pretty. The drier this product becomes, the more difficult it is to use. But sometimes its nice to go edgy. But if your a no nonsense sort of girl, then these won't be for you! But if you like a rugged effect to your make up, check this out.

Wear
If you rub your eyes whilst you wear this eyeliner, it will smudge. It does tend to last for a day out on the town, but it starts to wither away slightly as time goes on. So reapplying this once may be on the cards. It does however add that little bit more to the rugged edgy look if you leave it. Just don't rub at your eyes - It would end quite badly. It is quite tough to get off too. So I would recommend an oil based cleanser to gently break this tough stuff down.
Life Span
All I need to say is that it does dry quite quickly. It may just be the two I received but these do dry out at quite a fast speed. These tend to dry out within a month. When they are brand spanking new, these are nice gorgeous, bold and glossy. But as time goes on these become a little bit hard to work with. They don't glide on as smoothly and your left with rugged, slightly patchy eyeliner. If you like a challenge these will be something to look into. But if your a girl who hates products that make you work for them, I'd say leave this be. Would I buy this product again? Maybe the blue eyeliner? Some day?
If you have any tips for me - Feel free to give me them!
