Sweeping my eyes across the make up section of Boots, I found these. Given the hype surrounding these eyeshadow paints, I thought it would be only right to give it a little 'test ride'. As a girl who is always on the go, I need make up that likes to stay put. I don't do messy smudges or make up that spreads across half the face within the hour. I want to look good the whole day without having to reach for a mirror. So, the question is - Do they live up to the hype?
Lasting Power | ... As an 'on the go' sort of girl, I like a product that is easy. Something that is quick to apply, looks good and has very little maintenance time. This product ticks all those boxes and more. I was a little dubious about the hype around its 'staying power', but I found myself impressed with how well it lasted on my travels through London in the wind and rain. It didn't budge. If you like to rub your eyes when your tired though, it does come off. And it looks weird too. But considering its weather proof, I think this will do just fine.
Application | ... These slim lined pots come packed with a spongy wand. Whilst the 'said' wand spreads the product across the lid easily, it does not like to blend it out. Without a brush to soften the edges, you are left looking like some sort of panda. And as cute as they are, I don't really pull off the panda look. Another little niggle I have with this product is that it dries very quickly. Whilst blending the product out with a brush can look incredible, you have very little time to work with the product. Its a learn as you go sort of product, but once you get the hang of it - its ridiculously easy.

Golden Bronze | ... Its a golden bronze with orange undertones and it looks incredible on. Its one of those one wash wonders that are hard to find. It smokes itself out naturally and I absolutely love it. If your eyes are blue: this is your new best friend.
Rich Russet | ... Very similar to Maybelline's colour tattoo 'On and On Bronze', if you like that, you will love this product too. Its a gorgeous taupe like brown with a rich frosty undertone. Again its stunning. Very good for those casual 'not too dressy' days.
Overall Verdict - They are addictive & so easy to wear. At £4.99, they are worth a purchase.

I love these - it took me a little while to get used to them, but the formula is so long lasting and pigmentation is just super. You've created a stunning look :o) Xx

Awww. Thank you! That means a lot. Yes. It took me a while to get used to them too. You have to learn how to work with it! :) xx
DeleteGreat review! They sound a bit like the Collection Eye Shadow Pencils, pigmented and longlasting but a bit of a pain to blend out. They are gorgeous colours, I love Rich Russet on you! x

Awww. Thanks - Haha! I think they may be slightly easier on the blending front to blend out. But only slightly :) xx
DeleteI have the Rich Russet and I love it, but I do agree with all the negative things you mentioned :) Great review :)
