Beauty Resolutions

For me 2014 is all about being happy about myself. I want to be healthy, have fun, be creative with my blog and get through that bucket list that is tacked to my wall. I was sitting at my desk scribbling down a small snippet of resolutions for the year and I thought why not share it with you guys?! So here we are talking goals. Lots of exciting goals. Lets get that egg cracking...

1. Drink water. I want to drink it. Lots of it. Whether its in with my green tea or on its own, just sitting there in a glass, I want to be able to drink enough water to keep my body and skin hydrated. I like to think working on the inside can help achieve something on the outside too.

2. Eat healthily. What you eat affects not only your health & weight but your skin too. I want to improve all three aspects and use a healthy diet to get both my skin and weight back on track. Its time to shift the weight that the stress of uni left me with. This is the year of being happy with my body!

3. Cut off the locks. I have long hair. Terribly long hair. It can be hard to maintain and I can be quite lazy. I suit shoulder length hair more then I do long. And I love a shorter style. It can be SO refreshing to give it the chop. So I want to get it cut and preferably dyed a light blonde with it. I haven't been a light blonde since the age of four. Something here needs to be corrected.

4. Finish more products. My stash is unbelievable. As a shopaholic, I can tell you I have so much stuff tucked away it can be slightly overwhelming. And this year I want to get through a bulk of it. I want to be able to come to the end of that year lightening the load of my 'beyond ridiculous' stash as I so call it and discover some gems at the same time. Thats the plan anyway...

5. Nail my skin care routine. My skin loves drama. I solve one matter and out pops another. It likes living on the edge, you could say. When you have skin that is dry, dehydrated and sensitive all rolled into one, it can be quite difficult. And terribly annoying too. I go through products like its water trying to find something my skin loves. I have a few miracle workers and I'm nearly there, but still it needs perfecting - And this year I want to nail it and have a skin care routine that I love completely.

What are your beauty resolutions? Any of yours match mine? I would love to hear from you!

  1. All over the skin care routine, I have combination which actually does my head in! This leads to me having to use a different type of cleanser, moisturiser & night/ eye cream. I've used Biotherm quite a bit this year but still am not 100% with it! I'm all up for paying more for products that I know will work but unfortunately skin care is a whole other ball game. I started my blog as a New Years resolution :) take a look if you want? Anyway love your blogs so I look forward to the next installment x

  5. I need to drink a LOT of water as well - I usually skive off with just three or so glasses a *baaaaad*. And nail a proper skin care routine, including hand and foot creams.

  7. I totally agree with your chop off the locks resolution, a change of hair style can be so lovely but I'm terrified of the hairdressers as I've never left with what I wanted cos I'm too scared to stop them cutting loads off, it's daft!

    1. Its NOT daft missy. We all have fears! I went for years without chopping my long hair off. I did a trim here and there and it was cool. But I was scared to go short, but I wanted to have a change. And I absolutely fell in love with wearing a shorter hair style on myself. Plus hair grows back! :) xx

  8. Me too! I need to finish more products before buying new ones. Especially my nail polishes. I think I have 5 slightly different shades of purple and blues. It will be a miracle if I go though all of them!

My goal is to learn contouring and highlighting. It looks so simple, but I don't think I can pull it off.

    1. I think it would be a miracle for me to get through a nail polish bottle too. I don't think its possible. They just last so loooong. OOoh - Nice goal. I like it. Sure you can. I think anyone can pull off a good contour, its all about finding the right shade! xx
