There are a few things in life that bring me great joy. Sometimes it is the little things that I love the most. I thought I would share a few of my beauty relates loves.
Using Eyeshadow for Eyeliner on the Upper Lid.
Recently I have been using black eyeshadow to line my lids. I love the soft but natural look an eyeshadow can give you that gel, pen and pencil based eyeliners cannot. Lining your lids with a black powder can really make you look super flattering. Its a trick that I love to incorporate often into my make up routines. When using eyeshadow to apply eyeliner, a small angled brush is your best friend. Its super easy to do and one of my go to make up things I love to do. Soft but sultry is the way to go.
I have learnt from experience not to trust the sales people who lurk at the counters when it comes to buying foundation. They tell you what you want to hear. Sometimes I buy the bottle and it does not sit that great on my skin in natural light or it doesn't match my shade. Its a rather tiring process to go through. So now I tend to grab myself a little sample from the counters to take home and test for myself. I trust my own eyes more then a stranger. Its a great way to find out if you really want to invest in a product that carries a rather steep price tag. All counters should supply samples of their foundation for you. If not, find another counter. My latest sample to test much to my own excitement is the 'Nars Sheer Glow'. Bring it on.
There is something about Matte Blushes that makes me swoon. I love the natural touch of colour that they can bring to the cheeks. Often enough, It looks flattering to have a blush that is matte rather then shimmery. People can sometimes overdose on the shimmery products and whilst I love make up that carries a bit of sparkle, it can sometimes be too much. Matte products can give you a more natural looking finish. And my go to matte products of the moment are blushes. Matte all the way.
