Here are three Korean beauty tips to help your skin… Happy Easter!

The Double Cleansing Rule.

Koreans are all about cleansing their skin. They believe that by not cleansing, you leave your skin prone to spots, break outs and ageing skin. The idea is to cleanse your face with not one cleanser but two. Start off with an oil based make up remover to gently slide the make up away from the eyes. Then add a cleansing oil or balm to break down the make up and dirt over the rest of your face. The oil will start to turn milky when in contact with water. Wipe away with a soft clean cloth and some water.

Then go in with your second cleanser. For their second cleanse, most koreans opt for a water based cleanser. This can generally be a gel based cleanser, a milk cleanser or a cleansing foam.   Apply your water based cleanser to wash the dirt, sweat and pollution from your face and provide your skin with a little hydration too. Pat your face dry with a soft clean cloth, no wiping!

The art of a facial massage.

Koreans are very big on facial massages. Use your cleansing regime to provide yourself with a facial massage. Lightly work your fingertips in circular motions over the skin. It promotes great blood circulation in your skin. Koreans believe that it helps to make your skin look healthier. A facial massage can also provide your complexion with a healthy glow. Try find a video and open your eyes to the art of facial massages.

The Hydration Rule.

First up a good skin care routine will help keep your skin well hydrated. Koreans have a lot of different steps in their skin care routine to layer on hydration. Provide your skin with a decent moisturiser, a facial oil and a serum. Koreans are also big fans of sheet masks. They tend to throw one on in the evenings before bed, to leave their skin hydrated overnight. Look at purchasing a couple of sheet masks that aim to hydrate your skin.

Snail Mucin is an ingredient that is huge in Korean skin care. This is an extract packed with nutrients such as Hyaluronic acid, Glycoprotein enzymes and antimicrobial peptides. These ingredients have been known to stimulate the formation of collagen and elastin, repair damaged skin cells and provide your skin with hydration.

Finally if you are prone to dry skin, this is a trick that will help you particularly in the winter. Put a wet towel close to where you sleep in your room. It releases water into the air and helps to provide your skin with more moisture. Its a korean skin care trick that you can try for free!
