Colour Focus: Gold

Its rare that I go a day without a sprinkle of gold onto my face. I love how much it can brighten your complexion. I have about a million different products of gold swinging about in my drawer. And I am going to introduce you to some particularly jazzy must haves...

Top to Bottom: 1. Kiko Water Eye Shadow '200'  2. Topshop Eye Crayon in 'Marble'  3.  Elf Loose Pigment Powder  4. Bourjois Colour Edition in 'Marble'

Topshop Cream Eye Crayon 'Marble' | £7.00 ... Its creamy. It glides on like a dream and most importantly its rammed with colour. The colour is one heck of a stunner, a creamy white like gold that looks like champagne. Oh la la. Its one of my great loves. I find it applies quite smoothly onto the eye. There is no dragging of the skin and the result is not patchy like other cream eyeshadows on the market. A little of the product goes a long way so don't be heavy handed with it. That being said, its quite easy to just wear this on its own. Its a very easy product to work with. It stays put and doesn't slide about. A winner!

Bourjois Colour Edition 'Desir' | £6.99  Purchase ... These are recent editions to the Bourjois family & I have to say I am impressed. I love them dearly. Desir is a brass like gold cream eyeshadow with orange undertones. A really nice product for blue eyes. The formula is very different to the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. Its drier, more mousse like and holds a weird texture to it. What I love about this product is that it is build able. You can use this product to build up your look slowly. Again, it doesn't budge and dries ridiculously quickly. Impressive.

Elf Pigment Eye Shadow 'Golden Goddess' | £1.88  Purchase ... The darkest gold of the bunch, this one is a diva. regardless of the swatch in the photo, this one is a gorgeous dusky gold bordering on brown. Its stunning. Its a loose pigment eyeshadow that is highly pigmented and glides on so smoothly around the eyes. Sometimes it takes only one application to get it to sit well. For a little under £2.00 this one is a winner.

Kiko Cosmetics Water Eye Shadow '200' | £8.90  Purchase ... This is the most metallic gold I have ever clapped my eyes on. Its so gold it looks like it could glow in the dark. It very edible to the eyes. Both the colour and swirling form make it look so classic and beautiful, it makes you not want to use it. But when you do, it melts on like a dream around those eyes to create a wonderful look. Its a very brightening colour, so if your trying to perk up tired eyes, this is one to slap on. Go for it.
