Balance me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm Review

Whilst browsing the magazine aisles of WHSmith I stumbled across the latest issue of Marie Claire. With it came a free full sized tube of the Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm. Safe to say that said product made its way home with me. Oops.

The Balance Me skin care brand is well known for its friendly skin care range, free from chemical nasties. Instead it provides its customers with skin care that is made up completely of natural ingredients. You won't be finding any unwanted ingredients in this skin care collection. No sir. Its gentle, soothing and definitely a brand I recommend for sensitive skin. Whilst I have tried other products from their range, I have never had the chance to test out their face balm. And so I thought I'd dish the dirt…

The first thing I notice when I pop it on the back of my hand is that it looks like snot. Yes. Lovely. The fact it looks like I am popping a puddle of snot onto the back of my hand makes me squirm. Badly. But once you get through this first step, it turns out to be such a lovely product. Once you start to massage it into the skin - It melts very quickly. What your left with is a generous amount of very fine oil that contains a small amount of soft oatmeal grains. Overall this product works to remove grit and dirt from the face and at the same time ditch the dead skin.

Sensitive skin users do not fear. This cleansing exfoliant is far from harsh. The grains are so soft and sparse that I would be surprised for anyone to react to this product. Secondly the grains are made from oatmeal. Oatmeal is very soothing for the skin and is used in a lot of sensitive skin care brands to calm skin down. Once you massage this into your skin, the idea is to add water. This doesn't really lather like other cleansing balms do but it does break down make up. I would recommend to use it more as a second or third cleanser in your night time skin care routine. It would be a nice product to use in between cleansing and moisturising. It leaves your skin feeling super soft and smelling very much like citrus. What a lovely product. For £2.50, I'd bag this pronto!
